...who would love to see a 2 series GC? I generally prefer 4 doors over 2 and given that the 2 uses a smaller version of the 3 series chassis I think it'd be a hoot. If BMW's going to screw up their naming scheme further they may as well do a good job of it.

The 2-series is too small for a modern, well proportioned 4 door sedan. Get a 1-series instead, they can be had with the amount of doors you prefer (in Europe)

Based on the current naming convention, a 2 series GT would be a crossover. I think the nomenclature you're looking for is "Gran Coupe."
Jesus, this makes no sense. WTF BMW!?

the 1-series can't be had as a sedan though- they sell them where I'm from. Given how big the F30 is something E46/90 sized would be nice to see. A 1-series sedan if you will

Have you sat in the back of a CLA? If not try it, it's miserable. I'm a short guy at 5'6 and even I thought it was disgustingly cramped with someone who was only 5'10 in the passenger seat in front of me.

The new 1 is going to be FWD, though :(

that's disappointing although I suppose it makes sense for the target demographic. The 2 is based on a shortened 3/4 platform so if the sedan reflects that it'll be cool.

didn't think about that actually. But if there's a market for a CLA (and there seems to be a pretty big one) I can definitely see BMW following up on that since the German big three quite obviously shadow each other
